Episode 70!

Much like Oregon Trail, Matt has caught dysentery, so Jena and Salsa are forced to forge on without him. It’s noted in the episode that without Matt’s presence, Salsa is finally able to complete a thought. We learn (re-enforce) that Salsa is a horribly forgetful husband, though we assume it doesn’t bother his wife. Neither Jena or her husband, the lovely and talented Bill Young, were able to get spots in this year’s MN Fringe festival, and we reflect on how this makes them feel.

There was a trivia marathon in St. Cloud, and we discuss the ins and outs of the event, as well as Bill’s incredible luck in bookings. We also travel back to the Superbowl and discuss the most important part of the event- party foods. As we wrap up, all things turn to food. We recommend not listening to this episode on an empty stomach.

  1. 33-1/3 rpm, Jena. Not 33-1/2. Yes, I’m being pedantic on the internet, take a drink.

    • Pretty sure I was trying to say 33 and a 1/3rd. At least, I knew that’s what the theme was.

I blame the booze. It’s been bad. I should drink it.

As Drinking Stories was in 2009 you were correct that this would be the third time since that you weren’t drawn to get a show (2010, 2011 and 2012). But that doesn’t mean four years since you were in the Fringe as Salsa was trying to ask, your show was in the Fringe two and a half years ago.

I think that merits two drinks. :P

    • Trying this one more time…

I was in the Fringe from the time my ball was drawn, so 3 years. 2 and 1/2 since I performed in the Fringe.

And technically, I was in the Fringe last year as crew for Highlander: the Musical. I had an artist pass and everything. So really, half a year.

      Drinks to you.

  3. Party food? We had a pretty good response at a shop help gathering doing a “make your own sandwich” party. I forgot we did the bring your own aspect, but I think we supplied a variety of meats and cheeses and breads and asked everyone else to bring sides, wine or other stuff.

  4. Wow, Jena broke herself at 5:30. While not a duration record, I think it’s the earliest broken Jena we’ve seen.
