Wow, we really didn’t know what the hell we were gonna talk about this week, turns out, if we have nothing planned we go geeky. We talk about what superpowers we would want if we got to pick three. Matt has given this question a lot of thought. Salsa manages to change Matt’s mind with no forethought at all. This does not bode well for Matt.
Also, we talk brain games, you know, the type you play to keep from killing yourself at work while you’re bored. It’s less depressing than it sounds, I swear.

If I recall, the Sasha’s Den of Iniquity podcast said that some drinks (I don’t recall which) should be stirred, not shaken, because shaking aerates them and the tiny bubbles can make some drinks cloudy.
Then again, couldn’t aerating change some drinks flavor slightly?? -kind of like flat beer vs carbonated???
Martinis were typically stirred as it was believed that shaking would “bruise” the gin and damage the flavour. Studies have shown that there are chemical differences due to the aeration from stirring.
In any drink with cheap (or any, in previous decades) potato vodka, one would shake the drink so that some of the oil would remain in the shaker.
Another benefit to a stirred drink in some people’s minds is that you end up with a clear drink, as opposed to the cloudy shaken martinis. I rather enjoy the cloudy look myself.
Wikipedia has a passable article on the issue. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shaken,_not_stirred
Wow. You learn something new every day. Thank you for doing the research we were too lazy to do ourselves!

Omnipotence.
But that might not be as fun as some other power… I’ve always been a fan of seemingly benign powers being used to an unlimited degree. The book (and excellent reading thereof by the author) Playing for Keeps does a good job of covering this. Also think heroes/villains from The Tick universe.
But if I was forced to choose 3, I’d have to take omnipotence… the other two don’t really matter but I’d take omniscience if you counted that as a different power outside the scope of by omnipotence.
