This week it’s just Matt and Salsa in the house. Which feels stranger than perhaps it should since that is how we started way back when. Weird.
Anyway Jena is off being a ninja or some such thing, if you’re local and wanna check out a show this Friday or Saturday details are here.
Other than that, Salsa tells us about his parents visit, Matt got to hang out with Penn Jillette, Salsa joined Facebook thanks to your Kickstarter generosity, and we talk about fun jobs to have for a couple months.

You’re welcome, Salsa.
Now that the “Salsa isn’t on Facebook” rule doesn’t work anymore, I propose we amend the drinking game to drink every time Matt says “To me…” and pauses afterward.
Seriously? GEEZ, you guys. I take one cast off and you bore our audience half to death. The HELL?!?
Next time, at least try to replace me.
Jena their is no replacing such beauty and humor.
Kudos again for making 300+% funding. I can’t wait to hear the results of our investments!
Jobs: I’m looking forward to being a RenFest performer! My favorite job so far was when I traveled internationally teaching information security. I wish it had paid enough to support my family, but I had to quit because I was losing money. For a job I haven’t had yet, I’d like to work as a hand on one of those restored three-masted sailing ships that they use for excursions and tours. Would that be awesome or what?
I love that answer! Working on a ship would be awesome!
Turns out Matt and I were both fired from Adventures in Video. Huh.
About other jobs, I’m fortunate to have a job which is a career that’s essentially a desk job, but we’re a small-ish company and I actually really like it when some of us are needed to help for a few hours with some other random assembly-type of task in the warehouse. I wouldn’t want to do it full time but it’s a nice change of pace to zone out with that kind of thing once in a while.
Oh, and in a separate email I did tell Matt I was tempted to send the subsquent Fast Five email with some sort of “Ha ha, fooled you!” So I was amused you guys thought about the same thing.
Being pedantic, I have a suggestion for if others want to do the same separate email thing. Instead of just part one and part two, the one with the context/answers should just have a subject line like, “OPEN DURING SHOW AFTER ANSWERS GIVEN.” Pretty hard to fuck that one up.
We’ve gotten some in the new format already. Thanks again for the idea.
From what I’ve heard a lot of “living history” museums like Fort Snelling have been stepping away from doing First Person interpretations where they play a role as someone from the past in favor of just having tour guides and demonstrators in period attire but with no role playing.
Also when Jena can’t be there to record you should have a recording of one of the times she’s gotten “broken” ready to insert maybe as part of a bumper…
Some of the more unusual jobs I have had that would count for short-term fun would be: a ride operator at Valleyfair, camp counselor, ticket sales (including rock concerts and wrestling matches), personal assistant to a clothing artist and call center for “call-before-you-dig”.
Jena, you were sorely missed.
BTW Shirley Temple Black is not dead.
I don’t remember anyone saying she WAS dead, but either way, you are correct. She is not. Whoever said that was wrong, and if it was me, I blame the booze.
