Thanks for sticking with us during our brief absence, we missed you too. This episode we catch up on the last 3 weeks, Matt talks about Disney in an uncomfortably sincere way and we both geek out over Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. Favre out!
Have to recommend Clavell’s book’s Tai-pan and Noble House as well. I started Whirlwind which is set in set in Iran, 1979, but I couldn’t get in to it. It bounced back and forth between too many characters if I recall. His book King Rat is worth reading too, and relatively short plus a couple characters appear again later in Noble House, although you don’t have to read them in that order.
I’ll check them out. I think you’re the first person I’ve heard recommend reading anything else by him. I’ll mention it on the show once I read one of them.
I also thought the Shogun TV miniseries was worth watching for people who liked the book, but I don’t think the one based on Noble House was as good.
