This week we are joined by Tim Wick and Pedantic Eric from Vilification Tennis. Salsa and Matt both perform in the show, Tim runs it and Pedantic Eric has been doing it forever. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the show, here are a couple clips.
The show as it is performed out at the MN Renaissance Festival:
The show as it is performed at our other venue, the Bryant Lake Bowl in MPLS:
So, join us for a discussion of how to put our show together, as well as our thoughts on performing offensive comedy in general.
Also- Gaze into the murky depths of the Violet Gin & Tonic!

Rennie: A renaissance festival hippie, often one who travels the circuit. Also sometimes “Festie.” In conservative communities they are know by the public as “Long-haired-pot-smokin-daughter-stealin-rennie-hippy-freaks.” Although on the West Coast, one of my sources explained that” Rennies” are participants who are interested in the history, whereas “Festies” are those who are just out to party, imbibe recreational substances, and get laid.

Well, it’s on the internet, so it must be true!
Hey, whaddya guys think about posting a link to the Vil page on Facebook? I bet some of the fans there would find this interesting.
Several years ago, Nick and I were at Fest and he said we should go check out the Vil Ten show. I was a little like, “Ugh, really? Okay…” and he really had to talk me into it. This is because the Vil Ten I remembered was from when I was a kid (when it was all period jokes and in-character RenFest type “thee thou doth” language) and I remembered it as being rather boring. Granted, I was 11 or 12, but still. When we saw the show (and again, this was like 5 years ago or so) I was blown away by how funny it was, and thanks to AoN I know now that there *was a definite change and shift in the show format. It was excellent to hear the history of Vil Ten, thanks guys!
I’m glad we turned your opinion around. I feel like we might not always have a good handle on how mainstream or niche we are. It’s good to know someone was able to walk up a skeptic and leave happy.
