Episode 1 – Wherein we introduce ourselves, talk about work incentives, and hear about the near death experience of a friend. Which we play for laughs. Music provided by Brandon Patton check him out and give him all your money.

Nice, this was pretty funny. The only way you can get through near death experiences like this are to laugh about them afterwords! As long as everyone is okay of course.
Yeah, the sound quality of that segment is pretty atrocious, but the story itself is so good we felt we couldn’t pass it up.
Hi guys just heard about the podcast, so I’m catching up. The talk about the corporate incentives reminded me of the “good job” who are -constantly- saying good job to their pre-schoolers for every little thing. Sure kids need pats on the back, but sometimes it just seems a bit silly.
Hey Charles, glad you found us. You bring up a really good point, the constant back patting of the most mundane accomplishments bugs me too. We might have to talk about self-esteem in a future episode. Thanks for listening, please let us know what’s on your mind in the future as well.
BTW how about some links to podcasts you like? Could be a topic in itself, or an occasional feature.
It’s funny, Salsa and I recommend stuff to each other all the time but we don’t usually mention podcasts on the show. (With the notable exception of Episode 4) We could at least add it into the outro.
Listening to this first one but it’s only in the left channel. Really annoying if you’re listening on headphones/earbuds.
On the subject of sound, I’ve also been meaning to mention that the bumpers of Brandon’s music are WAY louder than your conversation. Like always. You should either bump the levels of your talking or create a special version of the bumper to use with a little lower recording level cause it really sucks when you have to turn the volume up hear the conversation and then have it blast your ears at the end of the segment.
Yeah, first one is really rough. We have improved quite a bit since then, but I’m still working the kinks out. I will be taking a look at the bump to bullshitting volume ratios this week. Lemme know what you think after the next episode.
Yep, I’ll be happy to let you know how that turns out. And to be clear, I don’t care what the relative volume level is, some things you listen to are louder or quieter than others. It’s having such a disparity within one ‘cast that’s frustrating.
Cheers!
